Was just going to say. You do not pay for any seat reservation (regardless of class of travel).
You pay for your advance ticket. Not sure why you're complaining here Malarkey because this advance would have been a fair bit cheaper than a walk-up fare!
As Citaro said earlier, reservations simply do not work and cause more chaos than they're worth when umpteen trains are cancelled.
