Eldon Sq - Gateshead - Low Fell - Birtley - Ouston then direct to Beamish. (Basically a twist on the old 728 and 709 routes cut off at Beamish)
Yeah, then renumbered everything as the 21 and caused all sorts of confusion - with punters using the number and not ultimate destination.
So they split them as the 21 and 22 and then got rid of the 22 - going back to the one number system again.
