Really? In my experiences at least, it is usually not more than a few minutes late, most of the times it has been in the region of 30 minutes is when there's been road works on the A167 in Darlington which affects all Darlington - Aycliffe services. I got the 14:20 from Sunderland this afternoon which arrived about 13 minutes late but I think this instance was down to the service having a new driver on it, unsurprisingly on this route he fell even further behind time, was about 20 minutes late by the time I got off in Newton Aycliffe.

Must say that the X22 often tends to be late heading towards Middlesbrough on a morning, often in the region of 10 minutes late.

As for the 22, I really feel for passengers including BusLoverMum who have to use this service on a regular basis, I rarely use it and I'm glad about that fact as some of my experiences of this service ain't positive, won't even entertain the idea of catching it from Sunderland or Dalton Park with the intention of connecting to the X21 at Peterlee as the few times I've attempted this, it hasn't gone smoothly, it usually ended up with me running to the opposite end of Park Lane to catch the 20 then connect to the 7 at Durham and this was before it was re-timed to run 5 minutes later.

On the subject of Darlington services running late, I've used the 7 from Aycliffe to Durham three times this week and on all three occasions the service has been a minimum of 10 minutes late, on Saturday afternoon one arrived at my stop 20 minutes late and was over 30 minutes late by the time it reached Durham and on top of that another two 7s arrived in the space of two minutes, because of the delay it had to pick up multiple loadings of passengers, it really shouldn't take almost an hour to get to Durham from Aycliffe but it did!
