Must admit, as someone who has an interest in transport, I have lost track with the numbering system in Sunderland over the years.
Not sure what a regular passenger would think.
More changes?
More route variations?
More new services?
Surely it would be easier keeping the same number and adapting the start/end points, than constantly going circles as in: introduce, axe, introduce, axe...
It is confusing the M1/4 changes were confusing and that simply a renumbering. The last East Durham changes caused a bit of confusing too, with timetables at bus stops not replaced too which fuelled confusion even more. Renumbering should be a last resort.
