So although they may only make 1-2% profit from a rail ticket, multiply that percentage by x and obviously there is the potential to end up at y.
I've no idea whether that ties in with the figures put forward by Aslef mind.

Interesting thanks for the link, unions will always say things to get the public behind them which is at the minute keeping the guards which I support to a degree but they have been unwilling to the passengers which is in return for northern meaning strike after strike.
