I live in Low Fell and since it started serving the Cannon it is very handy from a purely selfish point of view!
My general experience of it is that it has doesn't really have any adverse effect on the reliability of the service as most of the route between the Angel and Gateshead has bus lanes in both directions. It's only the short section in the centre of Low Fell where there isn't any.
When I lived in low fell, the srr ices only stopping at the Cannon were only worth the extra walk, some times an hour, Durham bound
