I understand it’s a seasonal variation of the standard X93 route between Burniston and Scarborough - the standard X93 route is via the A171 Scalby Road (passing Scarborough Hospital) and Falsgrave Road, Victoria Road and Northway to the railway station, while X94 journeys will take the A165 Burniston Road (to serve the Alpamare Water Park), Peasholm Park roundabout, then via Columbus Ravine and Northway (same as the Coastliner 843 route) to the railway station. Presumably X94 buses leaving Scarborough would run from Westborough via Victoria Road to reach Northway, then as inward route reversed. Many years ago some summer-only United 93C journeys took a similar alternative route to serve Peasholm and the North Bay attractions.
