Scrapping the 19 from Ashington to Northumberland Park seems odd - Ashington to Cramlington has always been the busiest section when I've travelled on the route, even more than the southern part! There aren't too many passengers in and around Seaton Delaval, so an extension of the 42 from Cramlington might make more sense (though irritatingly it would just add 2 to the PVR - Cramlington to Ashington is timetabled as taking 33 minutes so it would add 66 minutes to each run, when ideally you'd want under 60).
