There's a few major differences IMO -That isn't to take anything away from what @TyneFlashback (and others for that matter) are doing. Their stats speak for themselves.
- Scope is North East as oppose to Tyne and Wear
- The intention of the Bygone Era is an archive/library - @TyneFlashback is a social media feed
- The sharing of content on social media is an optional - its @TyneFlashback's core product
- The Bygone Era is much more than just photos, e.g. https://northeastbuses.co.uk/bygone/inde...eYear=1994
I agree.
I too have followed @TyneFlashback since its early inception, and really like their content. Their vast following in such a short period of time goes to show that there's a lot of appetite for historic content. We've been collating and sharing this content for a much longer period of time - years in fact - but we've never really been in a position where we've actively shared it. The Bygone Era is a great resource but nobody knows it exists, other than the regular users of this forum. The sharing of content on social media for us is nothing more than a promotional tool to raise awareness.
