It needs flattered and started again.
How's it lazy to slag them off?, City Centre gets worse by the years, yet they're building more pointless Office blocks on the Vaux site, which won't be filled up... while we have loads empty in the City Centre...
Surely the campaign was designed to attract people to the city and the surroundings. Whether it worked or not, is open to debate.
The fact is, a plan was developed with advertising on a range of vehicles which travelled beyond the city limits and across the world on the net.
Its aim was to draw people and footfall in to Sunderland, which in turn could have attracted investment and regeneration.
The East end was the town centre originally. It moved as the area became worn around the edges, towards the likes of Hight St East, Fawcett St and John St. It moved again as The Bridges developed, there were subtle changes when Park Lane had its makeover and is moving again towards the old Vaux site.
It's ever evolving and whilst Blandford St is down at heel at the moment, there's nothing to stop that becoming the next Sunniside (see previous comments on the area being run down in the past).
