Beacon's work was absolutely fantastic and it's a shame that they stopped consulting a local design agency in return for Best Impressions, who are completely overrated in my opinion.
There are pros and cons to both agencies, let's be honest.
Beacon's work was very hit and miss, there are brands they got absolutely right - Saltwell Park, for example. But a lot of other liveries seemed rushed, amateur and missed the whole point of marketing. They clearly have some very good ideas, but putting them into practice seemed to be a struggle.
Best Impressions are overrated, I totally agree with you. However, they do bring a very consistent approach and consider the finer details - such as smaller stickers, interior design etc etc. I'd say they know how to attract attention from their work, but again, they sometimes miss the point of marketing. Then there's the issue of the creative block that they seem to be going through, where everything seems to look similar and there isn't any real innovation in design. I do get a sense of heavy anti-car opinions from Best Impressions though, you don't see the agencies in charge of branding places such as Asda attacking and alienating customers from Sainsbury's on Twitter! If I were in charge of a company looking to get some branding in, I certainly wouldn't consider BI after scrolling through his Twitter...
