Wardley Coaches have a contract which picks up hi-vis wearing workers at several places in Wallsend and Byker at night. Used to be a minibus but they now use a coach for social-distancing. I often see it on Shields Road just down from junction with Chillingham Road around 6pm. Could that be what you saw.
