Our local bus station has just been replaced by a brand new build version, not bad at all EXCEPT that ALL timetable information is in the form of electronic departure boards that list departures for the next hour only. To work out what later buses may serve your route, you have to queue at the information office. If the electronic system fails ..... you're on your own! I did ask at the info office once (yes, I queued up to ask this) WHY there were no printed timetables displayed, and was told that the council thought it would make the place look untidy .....
At least Gateshead still has the large printed timetables at the stands.
And, to give NEXUS credit where it's due, their printed timetables are fantastic, so much better than the mess that is Durham Council's!
They give you estimated journey times to key destinations along the route, and the times are actually laid out in a way that's easy to read. ie. sorted by the hour not just chucked in a box!
