There’s still a bus stop on Hills Street in Gateshead opposite the Central Bar even though buses can no longer go that way due to the far end being paved over where buses used to exit onto the Tyne Bridge

It's still there because, in future, buses going into Newcastle will be obliged to serve it as it is the closest stop to the boundary between Newcastle and Gateshead. A less discussed part of the upcoming September changes is that buses will be required to do a three-point (booked) turn on Hills Street
