The repaints just happen to be an easy target to go after since they're out in the public!
I wonder how much GNE are spending on cleaning supplies for the buses, maybe if the buses were a bit dirtier then they could afford the extra 0.5% pay increase that would shut them up!
At the risk of drifting off topic, surely that is the whole rason d'etre of the union? To fight for better conditions for their members? A bankrupt bus company is not in their interest.
Reading some of the comments bandied about online, it seems to me that this 'pay dispute' isn't just about pay.
Besides, even in the 'good' times they've always had to fight for 3-3.5%, so somewhat understandable the company pleading poverty now is falling on deaf ears.
