GNE have regularly put extra services on for this event where other operators have largely failed. It's desperately needed, especially on the Friday and Saturday, where most buses come and go jam packed. Putting on and advertising extra services hopefully discourages people from taking the car, and lessens the congestion impact on the services they'd otherwise be running anyway.

Assume they'd just be running them as duplicates rather than extra services believe that's how you get around it. 

Mind it's debateable whether they're actually providing extra services since the 21 is still down from its normal frequency and in 2019 it was still every 15 minutes regardless with the X21 aswell.
