I was thinking the same when looking at the respective route maps for the services in the East Gateshead estates.

I personally don't understand why the 58 needs to operate the Felling side then cut across Windy Nook to operate the southern section of Leam Lane which it duplicates with the 57 from their to Heworth. 51/52 also does similar missing out a section of Split Crow Road to operate a section of Carr Hill Road, then there is a large chunk of Whitehill Drive/Stone Street without a Bus Service

I therefore think it would be a good idea to have a clockwise/anticlockwise circular route from Split Crow Road via Crowhall Lane/The Drive to Heworth then via High Heworth Lane/Albion Street onto Carr Hill Road back to Gateshead with the other routes in East Gateshead reviewed as they appear to be a bit of a mess. 

Go North East should've branded Services 51/52/57 & 58 "East Gateshead Criss Cross" as that's exactly what they do
