While you could say it was temporarily 'withdrawn', that wording in response to that particular query certainly made it sound like it would not be returning.
I would suggest if a permanent cancellation hasn’t been posted on the website, the customer services team have used a poor choice of words or have misinformed the customer (after all, once the X9 was permanently cancelled, this was posted on the website).
