For the 35 you always have the 65 which you can connect to the 55 or X1 to east herrington and Sunderland.
Thing is, you had a good idea, even if it was a joke but I think most of the 35 is covered mostly by other routes?
Sunderland Hospital - loads of services
Castletown - 8 (GNE), 73 (GCT) 99 stagecoach
Hylton Castle - 3 (SC), 99 (SC)
Town End Farm - 12, 13 (SC)
Only section is the Town End Farm to Boldon - unless you go to the town for the 9.
