So why after 2 years have they decided to put it back is anyone's guessNot anyone's guess - Nexus are funded by the local councils and local councillors have a big say in what Nexus does. I understand that the extension of the 41 was following requests from such councillors.
Plus they cut the 41 back in March from Howdon due to low passenger numbers

Seems silly to be changing it already when they've barely started it.The 82A was a late decision by Nexus following feedback from Councillors - it was given to JH without being tendered on a temporary basis.

Seems like they only kept 67/69 for 6 weeks so they had work for scholars drivers during holidays. If the school bus drivers had no work for 6 weeks, they may have jumped ship, leaving GNE short for all the NEW scholars work in September.I understand that it was a late decision by Nexus to retain the 67/69 - they didn't have time to put it out to tender before 24th July, but it has now been tendered through the usual process.
I believe that GCT have the whole 67/69 service, 4 buses Mon-Sat daytimes and 3 on Evening and Sunday.
With 4 buses Mon-Sat daytime and 3 buses evening/Sunday it will be a very high value contract, one that needs to be tendered - you are probably looking at a contract worth £750k per year.
