Looking through the route there's only Kelloe, Quarrington Hill and Cassop with no service and assuming the new 57 will cover some of them at least. No doubt it others will be covered by a token 3 hourly service similar to the 52/53 as there won't be much more demand really.
Looking at an FOI request, the 57 between Quarrington Hill and Hartlepool and the 57A between Thornley and Hartlepool are supported by DCC so presumably these will be replaced in some capacity. I'd imagine they'll either have the 58 return Durham - Quarrington Hill - Hartlepool and then have a 58A Hartlepool - Trimdon, or like I said revise the 58 to operate via Trimdon. Alternatively I guess they could do a loop from Hartlepool to Quarrington Hill across to Trimdon and back to Hartlepool but you'd imagine the direct bus to Durham will be preserved.
The new 57 I imagine will serve Kelloe between Coxhoe and Thornley but would be surprised if it diverted up to Quarrington Hill and Cassop. Equally can't see the former 58 being revised to a token service. Pretty sure it's one of the more popular tendered services. When Scarlet Band had it they used Versa's and when they struggled with shortages Arriva were keen to snap it up so must be decently used compared to some of the other services DCC have running around empty.
