Quite a number of the Blyth 43 boards contain contracted 47 journeys, so I imagine they're prioritising those shifts. They will break at Cramlington and probably do 43 boards their full shift, so it becomes hard to drop many.
I've noticed a lot of Blyth drivers with mentees recently, so once more of them are able to drive solo then the high sickness should be less of an issue.

Nothing that can be done about high driver sickness really, unless you'd want them to work and infect more drivers, leading to even more cancellations?
