My point is that infrastructure that you don't see as essential, still can be to other people. That goes for any public spending; it's not a waste of money, just because we don't personally use or gain from it.
The Leamside business case is well documented, and understandably, not everyone will agree with it. The same goes for modelling the numbers based on housebuilding along the route; most communities don't want more houses, but they're a necessity.
