I can also understand people not wanting to have to change on to the Metro at Kingston Park to get to Regent Centre and Gosforth when they currently have a direct route. I know if Arriva stopped the 44 at Regent Centre expecting us to swap on to the Metro I'd be straight back in the car.
If they extended the 49 journeys during rush hour to cover Gosforth and ran evening and Sunday journeys it would probably be less of an issue (there's a lot of use at those times, people like their beers), but I guess as you say maybe an x46 could work.
Is there any news of if GNE will continue to run the Q3 from Wallsend to Newcastle (I've missed it if they have). It will be a real shame to lose that Ouseburn and St Peters link from town.
Yeah I'd say so like the post after especially with the detour through Jesmond especially the lights on the Coast Road and also heading towards Blue House Roundabout which can be both bottlenecks.
Mind that said if you ran the X46 every 30 minutes to cover the A1 side of the Great Park does the route need to go Newcastle at all or maybe could it go elsewhere ie. across towards the Freeman or down towards the Metro Centre combining with the 6/7 etc.
The links from the Great Park to anywhere bar Newcastle are dire and it is probably something which should be looked at, especially heading North.
