The only revenue from Battle Hill they'd be throwing away would be from Tynemet. Other than that, they would have the potential to gain revenue from Single, RTN and Conc fares between Shields and Whitley Bay. That would make up the shortfall whilst offering quicker journeys between Marden and Newcastle whilst offering a more balanced and combined service with the 308 thus improving reliability on both services.
