The place badly needs redone, especially considering the North side of it is just abandoned nowadays pretty much. The railway station and long stay car park both need connecting to it better imo and the rest of it needs a serious refurbishment.

Heworth is the sort of place where people should be interchanging with buses terminating there.

I had no traffic problem at Heworth last Sunday. I was able to run along the Felling Bypass en route to the coast at Shields.
