I assume you've never been in a property which overlooks a bus route before. It does happen tbf, obviously not earthquake levels but windows etc can shake. 

I used to live in Heaton on the 1 route when at uni and it can be quite bad. Obviously you don't have a leg to stand on as the bus route was there before I moved in but I wouldn't really want buses and HGV's going down my street tbh if they didn't used to exist and they don't really make sense being there. 

Admit that's a bit NIMBY though.
