Not surprised it's a horrid bit of road. Not sure what the solution would be though mind as lights would just make it worse and you can't really just get rid of one of the roads as they're all main roads and there's no space to doing anything decent.

Nasty little bottleneck, very similar to South Gosforth North of the Tyne where you can't really do anything either.
