I think this will naturally raise questions about vetting, DBS checks and how it was able to happen. I've seen posts suggesting that he was working contract services, right up to his first reported court appearance in late 2022.
On the latter point, I agree, and it surprised me when I read that he was able to attend Seaburn Rally in 2024 with a bus. Given it was commonly known then, if he wasn't turned away at the door, perhaps those around him should have strongly encouraged him to leave. It shouldn't have taken the Police to attend.
I always found it odd that Durham scholars required an enhanced DBS that Tyne & Wear did not.
