I believe the 4 was planned to operate between Thorney Close and Downhill & the 22 from Doxford Park to Dene Estate. Personally, I don't think that change would have worked, similar to with when they tried sending the 4 via Farringdon with the now withdrawn 5 via East Herrington for a few months...
