It's a contract. Same as the 777. This is what kinda annoys me about these "service suggestions" is that people are doing this for the benefit of what "THEY" want to see and not what the customer wants. So what if the 777 isn't getting as many passenger as other service. Doesn't mean it should be withdrawn. Same could be said about a few others services that shouldn't be around but I dont see you doing the same to them
Enviro 400 MMC / Pulsar:
X13: X18 from Alnwick to Newcastle only
X14: No Changes
X15: Curtailed at Alnwick
X16: Peak Only to Wooler
X13/X14/X15/X16: 3 BPH, 4 BPH Peaks from Newcastle to Morpeth
Potentially Coaches:
X17: Newcastle - Non Stop - Gosforth - Non Stop - Regent Centre - Non Stop - Morpeth Bus Station - Non Stop - Alnwick - X15 Route to Berwick (Every 2 Hours)
X18/X18A: Newcastle - Non Stop - Gosforth - Non Stop - Regent Centre - Non Stop - Morpeth Bus Station - Non Stop - Alnwick - X18/418 Route to Berwick / Wooler (Every 2 Hours)
X17/X18: 1 BPH from Alnwick to Newcastle direct
777: Withdrawn - No-one is using this and it's well had a chance now - the resources would be better used above and it's all PVR neutral.
It means people who doing the really long journeys are getting a better and faster services with Alnwick gaining an extra bus every hour (it deserves it imo) with removal of the ridiculous doubling back of the X18 which is just silly. There's much more potential for growth so it can become sustainable long term.
Outright replacing the current X15/X18 with coaches would be a horrid idea - agreed.
