Didn't stop once after that till i got off at Chester and I was the only one left on it

I used to get that from Heworth to the Galleries, but the fact is the 4 showed up like 2 minutes after and was pretty much just as quick. It's just the 83A was the first bus that got there after I got off my Metro, same with the other people who got it.
