I believe that the term in the industry is "Drag The Road" whereby the driver will drive at a slower pace & dawdle along getting later & later, inevitably resulting in lost mileage for the operator as the service will eventually need to be adjusted to get it back on time. It's more common than you'd expect, although sometimes there's patterns to it.
