50: South Shields, Chichester, Stanhope Road, Whiteleas, Boldon, Nissan, Sulgrave, Concord, The Galleries, Lambton, Ayton, Barley Mow, Portobello, Birtley, Lansbury Drive, Lamesley, Team Valley (Every 30 Mins)

Wouldn't be a good move that imo, the 50 has the links from places like Chester Le Street etc to Nissan.
If you want to cut a bus in half then the 8 is the better one as there's not that many through links, especially when the HMRC closes. The long distance traffic ie. Sunderland to Chester Le Street and beyond, anyone sane would use the 78, and those two extensions, arguably would work quite well on it aswell.
imo something like:

Has potential to do well replacing half the 8, most the 82, 90 and replaces the main links of the X22 and X88 which don't run anymore even known they're slightly slower. Sending it via Southwick wasn't a mistake either, it's stupid that there's no service from Washington to the Stadium of Light and Southwick imo.
