The staff that are left are trying their best to run some form of service but unfortunately every day there are X4s and X93s being pulled to ensure the contracts run.
The service reductions at Stockton in November are designed to help them with their crisis, Whitby will be solved by moving to their winter operations but no doubt the same issue will surface again in March.
As for overtime, as some of you know I have moved to Australia and working for an operator over here it’s very much the same. The only way we can run the Mon-Fri schedule is with overtime (today I’m doing one shift 7am-3pm then jumping straight onto second half of another one 3pm-7pm). This happens every day!
The entire weekend output is staffed on overtime too… huge risk - but the wages out here make it worthwhile.
I have a couple freidns one in Newcastle AU, and one in Perth and they both drive buses and make a killing on overtime also massively helps the roads seem to be built for buses unless uk
