If it mentions upgrades for the 56 - this reads to me going on the X1 with Daimler StreetDecks going on the 56 - which would be quite a downgrade IMO especially as they've already been worked hard on the X1 and the 56 whilst easier does still have challenges.
I still stand by my word that the 307/309 are well suited routes for StreetDecks as they don't have any challenging sections - and the only truly fast parts being Station Road > Benfield Road and Blyth Road between the Caravan Park and Delaval Arms. The rest of both routes especially the 307 is basically pottering around the doors.
