How you do it, and what you do there's probably lots of arguments but they need to remove the buses which are terminating in the middle of no-where like the 18, 335, 340, 341, 355, services which just avoid everything like the 19 and 319, services which are just way too long with no benefits for being long like the 342 and the W2 - why does this exist?. Not to mention most are too infrequent, being hourly like the 353.
Other than the 57, 57A and 317, most the local services are a bit crap really, the doubling back at ASDA just being a prime example of it. There's a reason why most of them are being subsidised imo.
It would help if they actually asked where people want to go aswell, as I've never been asked.
I am in favour of the odd long and windy routes which goes everywhere possible for example 653 it hits the areas where a subsides bus service is needed but it hits all the spots however what I do think Nexus should do is offer a "transfare" ticket so for example GCT are all Nexus subsided routes basically but send them all over the place but anyone who boards the bus and gets a transfare ticket for no additional cost may I add can then board another bus service which is faster (or metro) to continue the journey
For example 350 351 current services is changed to terminate at Wallsend(this gives that route an extra 30 mins approx to go elsewhere) those passengers wishing to go to town could change for the metro or coast road bus to continue the journey on this Nexus transfare ticket same as boarding a commercial bus like 306 309 etc.. they ask for a Nexus transfare ticket. The reason why to have this ticket is so you can map where people are changing and boarding etc
