(Yesterday, 9:27 pm)Mike_98 wrote I wonder what's going to happen to the B9's because if Redcar are getting BRAND new E400MMC's for the X93, then I would assume they will get a full set of 6 to replace all of the B9's. Also, an extra 2 E400MMC's are going to Whitby from Durham for the P and R Contract.
Also, Redcar have 4x 72 plate E400MMCs already. They could have just left Durham with the MMC's or gave to Darlo and kept the B9's for the P&R or used the 72 plate ones for it. Seems abit of a waste to get rid of some good vehicles when they still have a tonne of life left in them. Are they planning on making the 62 a full Double Decker service? I think with a little tinkering of the route, there is potential to make a Double Decker Route from Redcar to Middlesbrough.
In regards to Single Deck vehicles, I don't think Stockton need anything more bar the 18x E200MMCs at the moment.
The problem is the P&R starts before the new buses so they need something.
No-one knows what's happening but I wouldn't be surprised if the B9's took the spare role and the 72 Plates head back to Ashington since they're desperate for more buses and they're getting nothing extra (new ones appear to be replacing the 17 Plates out).
Stockton badly needs investment more than those E200's though imo. The 5/5A, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 17A and 17B are all busy routes and deserve something better than 15/16 year Pulsar's on them. Unsure if there's enough here to replace all those though.
