(Yesterday, 9:30 pm)Malarkey wrote With funding being agreed "subject to value for money" for the re-opening of the Leamside Line in coming the years I had wondered if in the interim a Bus Service of some form would potentially work, I had a look through the Bygone Era/Old Timeables and had seen in the 80's/90's Northern operated Expresslink through to Broomside from Newcastle so I used this as basis of creating a service in which I have came up with these below.
X23/X24 - Newcastle - Gateshead - Low Fell - Chester-Le-Street - Durham - Gilesgate - Belmont - A690 - Leamside - Woodstone Village - Low Pittington - High Pittington - Broomside - Sherburn Village - Shincliffe - New Elvet - Durham - Chester-Le-Street - Low Fell - Gateshead - Newcastle
X25 - Durham - Gilesgate - Sherburn Village - Broomside - High Pittington - Low Pittington - Leamside - Woodstone Village - Bournmoor - Shiney Row - Washington Galleries - A1 - Angel Of The North - Low Fell - Gateshead - Newcastle
X26 - Durham - Gilesgate - Sherburn Village - Broomside - High Pittington - Low Pittington - Leamside - Woodstone Village - Bournmoor - Shiney Row - Penshaw - Pennywell - Chester Road - Royal Hospital - University - Sunderland
Surely any Leamside service would have to run something like:

It's basically what it does, but it's a bit of a duplicate of the 4 really.
Personally I think you'd better doing a new Washington Express service running every 30 minutes, 15 minutes combined giving the vast majority of Washington a direct bus service to Newcastle and integrating the 82 into it like this:
I think it's crazy you can't get a direct bus to Newcastle from pretty much all of Washington and I can't see at all how there's no demand for it. The bonus of that route is you get Concord, Birtley and Washington Galleries links added as a bonus and give a better service to not Durham Road in Birtley which equally an absolutely appalling service.
