How the 1 and 2 shadow the Arriva services is beyond me. Yes they have to operate on certain sections, that's unavoidable.But then just how do people get to the shopping complex at Skelton, the hospital at Brotton, Skinningrove and Moorsholm. 

Granted that passenger traffic on these routes isn't high and in some respects, the operation isn't justified. Years though of lack of services by the commercial rival, Arriva, have forced people's hands in seeking alternatives and now they've found them its difficult to persuade them otherwise.

Then there has to be the question of operating the Yutongs around these lanes. Smart buses that they are with competent and pleasant drivers it must only be a question of time before there is - heaven forbid - an accident.
