Not exactly a "record" but given the time of night, the 2345 309 ex Newcastle on the 7th March, didn't depart until 00:10 on Sunday 8th March due to severe late running on earlier 307 & 309 trips.
Contrary to most "late night" late running, the driver stuck to speed limits and charged normal fares.
Was half expecting the 54N 2251 ex Whitley Bay to be radio'd to take the last 309 - with the severely late 307 being sent straight back to Percy Main after completing the 2253 ex North Shields, but the driver on the 54N had to do a rail replacement.

That is an appalling example of couldn't care less regulation. Absolutely zero effort to do so.
The bus was already running late at 9pm and they just left it out. Poor show.
