Change the theme? "New service 28 (and 81) combined. Took myself of this morning to take a look. Pulsar 1491 ably driven my one of Stockton's new recruits and his mentor left Middlesbrough on time and our journey to Guisborough was faultless, there is clearly enough running time as given the loadings and a couple of difficult junctions to negotiate we were slightly early at the Guisborough timing point.
Now we change onto what was the 81. Our driver clearly hadn't done this route previously so was helped by his mentor, a route description and the running times. Again he was faultless apart from missing a left turn on one of the estates. Quickly rectified with the help of his mentor. What though would he have done without?
Good to see there was spare time at Redcar Clock and again at the turnaround point in Marske. Unfortunately there is, could be an issue at the booked Methodist Church, officially the layover point. That's in the form of parked cars. Our crew got round this by heading to the next stop on the route.
The timetables had been updated at Middlesbrough Bus Station but there was a quite clear lack of information at Redcar and beyond. Not everyone has the app!!
All in all the combination on my journey worked well. Thankfully though I don't have to repeat it.
