You make it sound like we're in the 90s again, and the scheduling system can't handle a 5-digit route number in the same way as a modern computer back then wouldn't be able to handle the year 2000 after 1999.
You'll be claiming the railways won't be able to handle modulator-demodulators, and have to rely upon facsimiles to communicate next....
