Doubt there's the demand and imagine making the route longer would put people off going from Middlesbrough towards Whitby & Scarborough, journey is long enough as it is.
I guess the 96 would've been best placed to serve Stainsacre a few times a day to get people into town, but maybe there's no demand from the locals to reinstate any sort of bus service.
It's one of those rare examples of a village once served regularly (probably for decades, since the start of local bus services) and then a few years ago cut to having nothing.
