Yeah, people were discussing it somewhere either RailUK or Skyscraper and if you have anything longer it goes into Platform 6's signal block so it makes Platform 6 unusable. You might have seen something longer though but it's the whole of Platform 5/6. 

Happy to be corrected but believe it's where the signals are in their respective direction so they can't go beyond the gantry near the waiting area on Platform 5.
