Aye don't disagree. See if I was to do it on the East side id be to have a short bus which just terminates at Four Lane Ends (or Benton Estate) and have the 3 services every 20 minutes each which means you actually boost the service by an extra hus in the core and have 2 less in the extremes.
What you do with the West side who knows because of Throckley.
The 37/38 I'd be tempted to leave as they are but both every 20 minutes and the 37 terminating short at Killingworth. Again what you do at the West side is open again as you probably don't really need a bus every 10 minutes to Whickham Estate. Could you maybe get shot of the 10/11 completely in the West End and merge them into the 30/31/37/38/39/40 somehow?
It's not my area though but I believe, if I'm right, that the West Road services to everywhere is a legacy thing to link up the General but without the General it's a bit pointless these days, especially when it's a huge horse shoe of a route, imo the rest of the 10/11 would be better merging with the likes of the 58 to Heworth when franchising comes in.
