MPD 557 was operating the Hexham-Corbridge-Hexham 687 today - but carrying literature (maps and leaflets) for the Hadrian's Wall service.
As I waited at the railway station for the 687 a shiny yellow MPD turned up and I got on, only to find that it was, in fact, the Hadrian's Wall bus!
It wasn't obvious but of course the destination blind would have read AD122 but it arrived when the 687 was due (10 to 2) - the AD122 driver said he was running half an hour late (due 13:13) . . .
Being shiny yellow paint probably meant it was 524? (I was dazzled and confused so didn't get the fleet number).
