Paired with the image the other company presents whilst working an evening/Sunday variation of that service, it could potentially lead to people making assumptions that it is the same company that they use the rest of the week (I.e. Compass/GNE on service 38).
Not only this, but you've got the issue of ticketing. If I pay whatever price I do for an annual BuzzFare and I live in the heart of Pennywell, I wouldn't expect to walk home from Chester Road each evening simply due to the fact SNE runs the 39 on an evening instead.
I'd be much more content if Nexus and other parties offered to 'fill the gap' in terms of the funding required to make the service commercially viable.
It's daft, all those people spending £££ on a buzzfare/megarider and they cant be used, daft decision should just give the 17/39 etc to GNE since its their services... but like always it comes down to the lowest bid.
