To my knowledge, a £5 single is the maximum price for an adult single ticket.
The fare must have been £3.95 before the fare changes two months ago. I'd suggest checking up with GNE to ensure that the driver hasn't overcharged you, if it was around £3.50 when you last made that journey.
I can remember it being under £4.00.
The destinations on the ticket are correct, so my memory must be playing tricks.
It has been a while since I bought a single on the 20/20a.
Will check when I get home at the weekend, to see what the old prices were - one bonus of having to keep receipts!
Psychologically, breaking the 99p barrier can make a difference.
