I recall when they were allocated to the Stockton-board X2s - 4052 (?) was an absolute nightmare when I had it from Durham to Chester, but that's the kind of sadistic 'nightmare' I get from a DAF

I also remember one legend of a driver giving me a lift on 4007 from the bottom to the top of Chester.

I never got on with 4052, but it's better than some of them we have currently at Stockton. Thankfully some of the worst ones are due to be withdrawn imminently, just waiting for our B10BLEs to transfer from Ashington (still none as of 1345 today!)
